Immigration Issues and International Adoptees

Immigration Issues and International Adoptees

Tags: public , rsvp

The recent executive orders directing an increase in immigration enforcement activities, a suspension of refugee resettlement, and an entry-ban to citizens of six Muslim-majority countries breed fear and insecurity in our immigrant communities. As international adoptees, these policies have a direct impact on our community and fellow immigrants. Please join us as we discuss the recent executive orders, the anticipated local and national response, and the intersectionality of international adoption and U.S. citizenship law.

This event is open to all international adoptees, family, friends, and allies who would like to discuss these ongoing and developing issues, and learn about resources, networks, and volunteer opportunities that may help in alleviating them.

Discussion will be led by Willie Giacofci and Marissa Martin.
